I use the tarot every day and I have always been a huge history fanatic and I believe that the history of tarot is one of the funnest things to research, so I thought maybe you might be interested in looking back at the tarot's origins!

Playing cards, tarot cards, some people get the two confused however they are very very different things although they can be used for the same purpose. Playing cards originally became used in Christian England prior to 1367, however they were soon banned in Bern, Switzerland. Early European decks were described as having fifty two cards with no jokers. Playing cards were extremely popular as a past time in court and noble families, many different games resulted after the introduction of playing cards and therefore it should come as no surprise that using the playing cards as a base deck someone would build a specialty deck for a specific game. Tarot also known as tarocchi cards were originally developed in Northern Italy in the first half of the of the fifteenth century somewhere between 1410 and 1430. There are many questions though as to the true origin, some believe that they were originally created in Egypt with the use of scimitars (now swords).....
